Created by the folks who bring you Tropfest, Trop Jr is a short filmmaking competition open to kids aged 15 years and younger. So if you are a budding young filmmaker - or just want to have some fun with your friends - grab a camera and start shooting your masterpiece by entry deadline day, Thursday 15 January 2009!
Its Tropfest tradition to include a signature item in your film to show that it was made for our festival. The Trop Jr Signature Item (TSI) for 2009 is 'SQUEEZE'. You may interpret this in any way you like be creative!
Bring the family along (as well as a picnic blanket and basket!) for a fun-filled afternoon on Sunday 22nd February 2009. 8-12 Trop Jr Finalists will premiere their films to a live audience in the Domain, Sydney, before Movie Extra Tropfest 2009.

Kids, get your skates on and your films rolling – Trop Jr entry deadline is only one month away!
Calling all young talent! It’s time to get the tape rolling with the 2009 Trop Jr deadline – 15 January 2009 - fast approaching and only one month away! All short films submitted must be no longer than seven minutes in length and must include the Trop Jr Signature Item (TSI), to show the film was made specifically for the 2009 festival.
